I am a clinical, advanced-standing student in the Master of Social Work program at Florida State University. I received my BSW at Florida A&M University in 2020.
I love exploring nature and practicing mindfulness meditation in my free time, as it has been instrumental in empowering me to remain present and strengthen my mind-body connection. Throughout my life, I have always believed it is a true calling and true honor for me to care for and support individuals who are in the final stages of life.
My inspiration for returning to Big Bend Hospice originates from watching my Mother receive remarkable quality end-of-life care until she finally transitioned at the Big Bend Hospice Dozier House in 2008. Big Bend Hospice helped my family and celebrated my Mother’s life during that difficult time. The support, kindness, and compassion we received ignited a flame for me to pay it forward and provide meaningful and compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families. The experiences I’ve encountered with Big Bend Hospice went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. I am eternally grateful.
For these reasons, I am truly thankful and honored to have the opportunity to complete my internship with BBH this fall. While interning with the Transitions program, I look forward to evolving as an individual and utilizing my gifts and skills to help provide patients, caregivers, and families with the most peaceful and comfortable end-of-life experience possible.

I am excited to begin my time as an intern for Big Bend Hospice. I am a clinical student in the Masters of Social Work and Criminology program at Florida State University. I received my Bachelor’s in Criminology and Psychology in 2019 from FSU, leading me to an interest in counseling individuals with experiences of trauma and victimization. I love spending time at FSU Campus Recreation, especially kayaking or paddleboarding with my partner.
I hope to help clients and their families with the difficulties they are facing in this period of their life and build supportive connections. I hope that I can make a positive impact on the clients and help them in whatever way that I can. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to learn from this internship and take what I have learned to apply it in further practice.
